15-01-2006 The long trip continued
Sunday January 15th. Again in the back of the car. We are all a bit tired of sitting in the car 12 hours per day. To comfort us the landscapes are at time hallucinating beautiful. The first kilometers the road followed the beach line. We looked out over beaches and reeves. The weather is extremely windy. The waves break violently on the rocks and splash high up in the air. The sea gulls do not seem to mind the wind. We on the other hand go quite slow. The wind is slowing us down and when it also starts to rain we even have to stop for some minutes because I hardly see anything anymore.
By now we passed San Julian and the land is as flat as the Netherlands. We pass hundreds of kilometers of barbed wire. The meadows are sandy and dry. We pass a sheep every 50 km.
